Deborah Kerch

Deborah Kerch owns Orchard Realty with her husband, Steve, and is the company manager as well as a sales associate. Deborah founded Orchard Realty in October 2012 and has been a licensed REALTOR® since 2004. Prior to that, Deborah was Vice President of Sales and Marketing for a corporate relocation business called Relocation Coordinates. Before working there, Deborah already had extensive outside sales and marketing experience, all of which made her transition into real estate seamless.

Deborah enjoys being in business for herself. Her results-driven approach to real estate has ensured her success, and she looks forward to growing Orchard Realty and helping more people discover the joy it is to live and own property in Julian.

She and Steve moved to Julian in 2003 after spending many weekends here. They thought at first that they’d buy a vacation home in Julian, but the more time they spent here, the more they became enamored with the open spaces and peaceful living that the backcountry offered. They bought a 45-acre ranch that provided plenty of space for their horses and made it their primary residence. For Deborah, purchasing a home in Julian was “the perfect avenue for experiencing this uplifting country environment.” She hopes to pave the way for many others to do the same.

Jane Brown-Darche

Orchard Realty welcomed a new broker associate to our team in January 2015: REALTOR® Jane Brown-Darche. Since 1990, Jane has worked in the Julian backcountry as a licensed real estate agent. She possesses a risk management specialist designation and keeps her real estate knowledge up to date with continued coursework.

Julian real estate is a family tradition for Jane. Her parents opened a brokerage here called Brown and Curry in the early 1970s and operated out of two offices until 1990. Her sister was also a broker. Leading by example, Jane’s family inspired her to pursue a real estate career in the area.

In her free time, Jane enjoys riding her horse, a mustang named Cheyenne, socializing with friends, and hiking in the backcountry. She and her husband live in Wynola. Jane has two daughters, a granddaughter, two dogs, four cats, two horses and two parakeets and spends as much time with all of them as she can!

We look forward to the successes that are sure to come with Jane as a new member of our team!

Allison Pettross

Allison Pettross just completed her first full year as a real estate agent with us — and what a year she had! In 2014, Allison executed 10 property sales (6 home, 4 land) for a total of $2.4 million in real estate transactions.

In talking about the year that just passed, Allison noted that a professional high point was “meeting people and feeling happy to have found the right property for them.” One couple, for instance, looked at a dozen or so homes with Allison over the course of several months, but nothing seemed quite right. Then one day Allison noticed a new property hit the market that she thought would be perfect for them. They agreed, quickly made an offer and now own that wonderful home! Matching clients with the properties they love makes this a rewarding profession. Allison’s 2015 is off to a great start, so expect more good tidings from this corner in the next newsletter!

Karen Osborne

Karan Osborne is our part-time Certified Transaction Coordinator. She is also a notary with a special certification that allows her to sign loan documents. Karan handles our transaction files to ensure that the paperwork is complete, which makes her a crucial safeguard against deals falling through the cracks due to missing forms or signatures.

For many years, Karan had wanted to live in Julian. Her husband said if she got a job here, they could move, so that’s exactly what she did! The Osbornes have lived in Julian for about a year now and love it. On Saturdays Karan works for the Chamber of Commerce, where she’s able to share her enthusiasm for the town with visitors. She also enjoys volunteering for local events and is on, for example, the 4th of July parade committee. We appreciate the important work that Karan does for us and know that her expertise and diligence make her a valuable asset to our clients as well!
